Description

Indeterminate, potato leaf plant produces beautiful, pink, large, slightly heart-shaped and meaty tomatoes with terrific old fashioned tomato taste. I received seeds from Jim Wyant who got his seeds from Emily Custis of Noblesville. She got seeds for this tomato from her father, Duke Norton, who lives in Mansfield, Ohio.
Duke is originally from Somerset, Kentucky. He got seeds from his Aunt Juno Russell Snell of Somerset, Kentucky. The Snells had grown this tomato for as long as anyone could remember. It is believed they go back to early 1900 in the Snell family. Duke was the only family member that kept growing the tomato year after year. He began growing it in 1985. Duke named this tomato Whetstone for the area from which it came and added Wonders because of how great he though the fruit to be.
