All Tomatoes varieties differ in maturation times or "Days to Maturity" (DTM). This is the number of days from setting out your transplants to the harvest or maturity date. (However, If you sow your seeds directly into the soil then the DTM given will not be close to accurate. This number will also change if you are planting in a greenhouse or use season extenders such as "water-walls" or covers.)
Although after each tomato description we give the Days to Maturity i.e., (75
days) this should be taken as an estimate. I usually figure plus or
minus 5 days in each direction. And even this will change according to
the regional differences of the geological area you live in. The
following is a guide that is generally commonly used and what we use for
our tomato descriptions.
Very Early: 54 days or less
Early: 55-69 days
Mid-Season: 70-84 days
Late Season: 85 or more
